Using Joomla Open Source software, you can be sure that your site will never be 'too hard' to update, nor am i going to hide it from you that this is the application your site is being hosted with - in fact I praise the application for opening up the website world and making it easier for companies to have professional website.

(You may well be surprised to know that some of the 'big shots' websites have been created in Joolma too - except they've paid silly dollars to someone thinking that person has written all the applications that their wonderful site hosts.)

So what is Joomla?

Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

So what is needed to set up a website?

1. You need to register a domain name, ie www.yourcompany.co.nz
2. You need someone to host the website for you - they provide you with reliable, 24/7 operating 'server space' for your website to be viewed from.
3. You need to have your website designed and uploaded to your server

What are the costs?

You will have to pay for:
Your domain name registration - this will need to be paid annually and costs approx $40 pa

Your hosting - this can be paid monthly or annually, and depending on your website needs and size, will vary, but you can expect to pay anything from $150 pa upward for a host which offers you good 'backend' services.

Your web design - this will depend entirely on how much you're prepared to pay, who does it, and what your website needs are.  Obviously the more pages, data, functions you require for your site, the more time is required for your site to be completed.
